How we write.

Our articles are meant to help you hire well, whether or not you ever use SortTheStack. This is who writes them, how they are made, and what to do if we get something wrong.

Who writes our articles

Articles are written by the SortTheStack team and published under pen names: Sara, Jennifer, Ashley, David, James and Michael. A byline tells you an article comes from our team. It is not a claim that a separate expert wrote it, which is why you will not find biographies or credentials attached to these names.

Comparison pages are published under the company name, SortTheStack.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help research and draft some articles. Every article is checked against its sources and reviewed by a person on our team before it is published, and every statistic and research finding links to where it came from.

Sources and evidence

We work from primary sources wherever we can: the original research paper rather than a summary of it, and a vendor's own pricing page and documentation rather than a review site. We say when something is our recommendation rather than a research finding.

We do not invent statistics, quotes, customers or case studies. When an article uses an example company or candidates to show how something works, it says the example is fictional.

How we compare products

We make SortTheStack, so read our comparisons with that in mind. Each one says how it was researched and on what date the claims were checked. If we have not used a competing product ourselves, we say so. When we could not confirm whether a product has a feature, we mark it as not verified, which does not mean the product lacks it.

We say where another product is the better choice, and we re-check every comparison at least every 90 days.

Corrections

If you find an error, especially about another company's product, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it. We change an article's date only when its content has actually changed.
